In this session, participants will work together on some open-ended problem-solving tasks. They will then discuss problem-solving and its place in the mathematics curriculum, and some of the challenges that it brings to teaching.
Bio: Peter Tingley has been a professor at Loyola University Chicago since 2012, where he teaches a wide range of math classes. He has been involved with math circles for teachers and secondary school students since around 2006 and is a founding organizer of the Chicago Math Teachers’ circle. Most of all, he loves to solve problems!
