Description: How can we best support students as they make sense of big mathematical ideas over time? This webinar will explore how teachers can empower students to share, clarify, and synthesize their thinking during their lesson summaries to help keep the momentum of students’ discoveries beyond single class periods to build lasting understanding.
Speaker: Anne Agostinelli serves as an instructional coach and professional development leader for numerous schools with the Metro Chicago MathematicsInitiative. She taught middle school mathematics in Chicago Public Schools for ten years, where she also served as a teacher leader at the school, network, and district levels, and was a math team coach for students. She was a Yale National Initiative fellow
in 2012 and 2014, and is a founding member of the Chicago Math Teachers’ Circle with Loyola University. She is passionate about supporting equity and access for both students and teachers, and loves math talks.
