This summer, about 400 teachers and administrators from the BSF-UIC Mathematics Initiative and SCMI and WCMI Consortium districts joined us at Elmwood Park High School and Shepard High School for our summer institutes, Engaging All Students in Meaningful Mathematics. We were fortunate to enjoy dynamic and inspirational keynote addresses from Harold Asturias, director of the Center for Mathematics Excellence and Equity at the Lawrence Hall of Science at the University of California, Berkeley; and Dr. Cathy Seeley, former NCTM president and Senior Fellow at the Charles A.
