UIC’s CryptoClub Offers Summer Workshop for Teachers

We wanted to share this workshop opportunity with our participants. If you’re not familiar with CryptoClub, check out their website and information below:

The CryptoClub Project is offering a 3-day Summer Training Workshop for middle-grade teachers and afterschool educators at the University of Chicago.  June 26-28.

Participants will be introduced to the CryptoClub curriculum, which teaches cryptography and mathematics to middle-grade students in afterschool and enrichment settings. CryptoClub uses games, treasure hunts, and other informal activities to engage students in exploring these important STEM topics.

More information about CryptoClub can be found on the CryptoClub Project website. A three-minute video on the site shows the program in action.

Registration fees are $150 for the CryptoClub Leader-Training Workshop, including leader materials and meals during the workshop.
Note: The cost to implement the CryptoClub curriculum typically includes $12 per student book.

Workshop registration is now open.

Please pass this information on to other interested educators. For questions, email Janet Beissinger, beissinger@uchicago.edu.

Thank you,
