Instructional Leadership Institute

School Year 2024–2025

This  series is designed for all instructional leaders interested in learning more about what to “look-for” in powerful mathematics classrooms. We will discuss how to support teachers as they shift their practice and examine tools and frameworks to make these shifts possible and sustainable.

In the series, we will discuss effective teaching practices, lessons structures and beliefs that create student access while maintaining high cognitive demand. Finally, we will also explore strategies that help teachers use student thinking to confront misconceptions, build on students’ assets, and develop academic vocabulary.

ISBE Professional Development hours will be provided for each session.

Two 3-hour in-person sessions from 8:30–11:30 am. Location TBD.

Registration opens August 1, 2024. All registration costs will be listed in the registration form. For districts participating in the MCMI PD Consortium, registration costs are covered by the terms of the contract.
