Illuminating Student Brilliance in Our Math Classrooms
Let’s foster student engagement in mathematics by building upon students’ unique experiences and brilliance! In this professional development series, we will explore ways to reveal and illuminate student brilliance and learn how to engage students and support their individual and collective growth. We will reflect on classroom structures and practices that highlight student reasoning and explore how we can create even more opportunities for student engagement in mathematics.
ISBE Professional Development hours will be provided for each session.
Three 90-minute virtual sessions from 8:30–10:00 am, 10:30 am–12:00 pm, 1:00–2:30 pm, or 4:30–6:00 pm; AND two full-day in-person sessions from 8:30 am–3:00 pm. There will also be an optional “Session 0” where we will introduce the MCMI team and project resources.
