Supporting the Robust Teaching of Mathematics
The Coaching Institute is designed for educators who serve as instructional coaches in their districts and schools; they may be released either full time or part time but should have the opportunity to support teachers to improve their instructional practice. The institute is focused on building math coaches’ capacity to collaborate with colleagues, to build teacher capacity with a focus on student thinking and learning, and to lead productive grade-level teams and engaging professional development sessions. ISBE Professional Development hours will be provided for each session.
Two full-days in-person from 8:30 am–3:00 pm and four 2.5-hour virtual sessions from 9:00–11:30 am.
- Session 1: September 18, virtual
- Session 2: October 16, virtual
- Session 3: December 1, in-person at a participant’s school
- Session 4: January 16, virtual
- Session 5: February 12, in-person at a participant’s school
- Session 6: April 15, virtual
Registration costs are listed in EventBrite. For districts participating in the MCMI PD Consortium, registration costs are covered by the terms of the contract.
