Help your students celebrate Pi Day, 3/14, while engaging them in rich problem-solving and explorations. Here is a list of our favorite resources and ideas for K–12 students.

  • Ten National Pi Day Fun Facts You Need to Know.

  • Find things that are about 3 times larger or smaller than a benchmark (e.g., the length of your finger, your height, the length of your foot, the weight of a book, the area of a sheet of paper.)

  • Challenge students to measure the diameter and the circumference of circles. Here is a TIMS Project lesson: Diameter vs Circumference. Represent the data in a table and a graph and describe the relationship between the two variables.
